June Blitz:
|
Last fall’s devastating hurricane season boosted our nation’s awareness of the poverty that exists not only on the Gulf Coast, but in our own backyards. Habitat for Humanity® International (HFHI) wants to send a message nationwide that affordable housing can be a reality — and the building industry can help.
Through an effort called the Habitat for Humanity® Home Builders Blitz 2006, HFHI and the building industry joined together with the goal of having the largest nationwide build of homes in Habitat’s history during the week of June 5, 2006. Miller Brooks was approached by HFHI last October with the opportunity to help market and support the blitz. Welcoming the challenge and the cause, the Miller Brooks and HFHI partnership was quickly born.
To help meet HFHI’s goal, Miller Brooks developed the Web site content, messaging, trade advertising and marketing materials, and provided trade show support and promotions, spokesperson speeches, media outreach, and interaction with builders across the country.
Much has happened since October of last year. The Home Builders Blitz 2006 is well on its way to becoming the largest blitz in Habitat history. So far, more than 1,000 builders across the nation have made the commitment to help build more than 550 homes in one week.
At Miller Brooks, we have been fortunate to be involved along the way and look forward to the big build in June. For more information on the Home Builders Blitz 2006, HFHI and how you can help, visit www.habitat.org.
